i have 3 projects that have yet to be completed.

why did i open my fucking mouth?

bought the memoirs of a geisha cd.

captivating, yes

but the song is not strong enough to lift my mood up or down.

maybe watching the movie will help.

let's see.

since i have more time,

ill shall recap the last two days.

tuesday was a loong awaited day.

it was the day when the council room was finally going to get new furniture.

headed to Ikea

riding mr. anwar's car.

what a nice car he has.

i loike.

i mean its toyota picnic with a TV for crying out loud.

the trip was great.

jamilah, taufiq and i were laughing over a Mr.Bean show.

the christmas episode.

totally hilarious.

actually,

taufiq's laugh was infectous.

is that the correct word?

nasri was there.

very cool dude.

and so we picked all white furnitures-

coincidentally.

it matches with our scheme colour.

anyhoo,

the curtains that we picked out in the book was too expensive.

so we used shower curtains instead.

cheap, nice, and affordable.

we checked out then.

got back to tampines interchange.

on the way,

mr anwar said that a group of Yumin Primary students wants to be our protégé for a day.

intresting.

wednesday.

headed out to a hydroponics farm.

wasnt very intresting.

very blargh.

we are supposed to try to grow a hydropic plant.

very green hands thing.

not my type.

stop here.

bye.

Wednesday, January 25, 2006

ok very sad day.

lemme get through yesterday.

went to ikea with mr anwar, nabil, J, nasri and taufiq.

very fun.

we all went crazy over the furniture.

excluding mr.anwar of course.

anyhoo,

bought very nice things.

all white coincidentally.

and we were not overbudget!

ok.

today.

very sad day.

had a maths test.

very sucky.

i got stuck halfway.

argh!

i'm thinking of tuition.

blog later.

using laptop.

salut.

i dunno what to write,

so i am going to write a

well,

you can call it a

'lesson'.

Language.

one of my favourite topics.

almost every one im my circle knows that.

alright.

let's start off with the two languages we speak in S'pore shall we?

English and Malay.

i'll start with English first.

right.

English is not a 'pure' language-

meaning that it almost has no original words on it's own.

it has borrowed words from the Romances-

French, Italian, Spanish-

in a nutshell,

all of these languages came from Latin.

( hey,

if you look incredulous check out the french, spanish and italian word for 'new' and 'life'-

which are nouveau, vie, nuevo, vida, novizio and vita respectively.

Compare them with the latin words for 'new' and 'life'-

nova and vitæ.

see?)

anyhoo,

english is the lingua franca of many countries in the world.

it is really intresting to see borrowed words,

and to come across them,

brings a smile to one's self.

exempli gratia-

from french we have

academic-academique

anguish-angoisse

from italian we have

carpet-carpita

cauliflower- cavolfiore

form spanish we have

canyon-cañón(prononced canyon)

alligator-el lagarto(the lizard)

and last but not least,

from latin we have

bonus-bonum

canine-canis

english is not all bad you know.

open your eyes,

homo sapiens!

malay is also another intresting laguaguage.

borrowing words from sanskrit(which eventually evolved to

Hindustani[ the 'land' of the Hindus, where the suffix -stan is Persian aka olde Iranian]

so do not be surprised

when you hear the word 'dunya'

in Bollywood movies.

examples:

sengsara- samsara

ahli nujum(astronomer)- this is a very intresting word.

combing the two arabic words,

ahli-اهل(Ahl'-people)

and

nujum-ﻡﺝﻥ(nujm-star)

you get 'people of the star'.

hence astronomer.

thus i end my 'lesson' here.

(credits to Wikipedia for having so much information. J'amor vous!)

Monday, January 16, 2006

last tuesday was a very,

stomach-grumbling,

hand-wringing,

face-pale-ing

day.

it was the presidential elections speech!

zut alors!

my legs were trembling.

little bit of nasal exercise hit the spot.

my speech sucked big time.

it couldn't be more apt that i was speaking that fast.

gawd.

enough already.

no more talking in front of the school.

debate's coming!

can't wait.

now this is my talent!

blog more later.

vale.

week in review.

it's been one hell of a hectic week.

i think.

been very forgetful lately.

i think it is because of lack sleep.

well,

blame Channel 5 for having shows after 10 pm.

keeps me from sleeping early.

ok. back to the week.

nothing much i can remember,

ahh.

oh yes.

eid ul-Adha.

i can call it a tiring day in the least.

there were so many people.

mon dieu,

i was knocked out at the end of the day.

(Having mentioned the eid ul-Adha,

i recalled the most unfortunate incident in Mina,

whereby the pilgrimage performing the Haj

were at the ninth stop in the Haj,

the Stoning Of The Jamraat

whereby the pilgrimage throw pebbles at the Jamarah,

three stone pillars the represent the Devil,

and also the al-Nafs al-Amarah,

the internal despot,

or temptation.

having said that,

over 345 people were crushed to death by a stampede that occured.

that brings to mind a particular phrase:

et in arcadia ego

meaning: and i in Acardia.

the phrase means that Death is also in Acardia,

a mythical country renowned for its beauty and splendour.

in short,

Death is everywhere.

may God bless me and my family with long life.

insya'allah.)

anyhoo,

school's becoming more challenging.

not to the negative side.

i welcome challenge with open arms anyway.

'a' maths has been great.

easy peasy.

physics well,

coping.

alright,

moving on,

council's great.

they are finally going to revamp the council room,

J's going to Ikea,

to get some furniture for the room.

which is a good thing that finally the school responds to our complains.

also,

The Code Of Conduct is a lifesaver.

now my councillors are threatend to come early.

compliments from me.

:)

going on,

today was the usual NPCC training.

ok-oklah.

the sec ones were pathetic.

the sec 2s were dead or mute,

only the sec 3s were alive.

i will make a mental note to make sure that the current Sec 1s do get the best from us the sec 3 batch.

so that they do not become dead or dumb like the current sec 2s now.

so that they do not succumb to laziness.

anyhoo,

after the Muster Parade,

Campcraft Competition training was next.

it was ok,

and i know how to pitch a tent already.

haha.

:P.

there were some cheers then.

the sec 3s,

responded from as far as the NP room.

heh.

i am so making everybody scream during the cheering session each time.

alright .

will stop here.

have tons of homework to do.

bonne nuit.

Saturday, January 07, 2006

hello.

my hands are tied,

i do not know what to blog.

in the mean time,

i am officially addicted to "Potter Waltz"

it makes me sway and sets me at peace.

try some real music, people.

not that the pop music that is destroying our minds and earbuds.

second day.

well, well, well,

what can i say?

learning officially starts today.

started off with A. Maths.

it was greeeeeat!

except that my brain was really slow.

not to the point where one becomes a marshmallow in front of the board though.

like not seeing the algebraic rule

(a-b)

as i put it in miss yong's words,

i ought to be shot!

next was Physics.

my nightmare came through then.

Azam's my teacher.

well,

for a fact he knows his voice is monotonous.

he admitted it!

the lesson was OK...

but for a fact,

i think i did the worksheet wrongly.

confusing,confusing.

just like chemistry.

geog next.

can laa..

bit teeny weeny boring,

but it's 'cure-able'

MT?

same.

Cikgu Aishah again nonetheless.

not to say that i am complaining.

english verywell sucked.

we were supposed to write a compo.

i chose 'taxi driver'.

crappy storyline.

totally rubbish.

anyhoo..

ill stop here.

sudden laziness caught over me.

Amore,more,ore,re.

Tuesday, January 03, 2006

alright.

first official day of school.

didn't sucked.

but it was not that great either.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

it is officially 2006.

may all your wishes come true.

i'll blog the rest later.

no bloody sodding idea on what to write.

Sunday, January 01, 2006

you know,

there's like a raving wave that's sweeping the makciks off their feet.

the wave's called Dia.

its so irritating that its looks intresting to watch.

see the irony?

btw,

i seem to be bullying Wasabe.

a lot of times.

i'm so misogynistic.

new years' eve.

that means it's..

resolution time!

1) to do well in my secondary 3.

seeing all the sec 3s now just failing give me the creeps.

2)to be a great leader, in both NPCC and the Council.

great expectations are on me.

can't just give up like that.

3)getting the model student award again, if possible.

for my bragging rights. heh.

4)save up enough money to get a HOME THEATER SYSTEM.

for the very great DVD movie.

5)stop drowning my self in eschatologies.

please. stop.

6)read more books to improve moi vocabulary.

again. for bragging rights.

i'm sorry.

i can't help it.

7)improve on the Romance languages.

Romance language?

romance as in love?

alas,

non!

Romance language= latin,french,italian,spanish et cetera.

8)more Wiki!

i heart wiki.

anyhoo,

i now own a hi-fi set.

:).

my dad got it for free.

compliments fromhis workplace of course.

hee.

school's starting soon.

cant wait.

so my overall critique for the year 2005:

it is an annus mirabilis.

that is all i can say.
